Research + Practice
A creativity researcher and a corporate innovation practitioner started hanging out 15 (or so) years ago.
Isn’t that how every great story starts? It’s how this great story does. We have been living, writing about, and researching creativity, imagination, and innovation for a combined 50 years.
Over the years, we’ve built things, launched products, published books, coached teams, and taught. But there was still a missing element. We kept asking each other, “How do we create a space for women like us? How can we develop a community of practice around creativity and innovation? How can we help others (and ourselves, at times) get unstuck?”
So we decided to design the transformative experiences we yearned to be a part of. We have put our hearts and souls, and every drop of creativity and innovation into this. But you know what? Creativity and innovation are generative elements. We’d love to add your magic to the mix.
We all have it. Tap in. Join us.

CoFounder
For over twenty years, Cate has explored the fascinating intersection of leadership, creativity, and decision-making—first as a leader across startups, for-profits, and nonprofits, and now as Director of Doane University's Doctorate of Education program. This journey has fueled her writing on creativity, moral imagination, and educational leadership, while her South Dakota roots have inspired research on how outdoor experiences shape leadership capabilities. When not teaching, consulting, or presenting on topics like moral imagination and critical thinking, Cate finds creative balance in the garden, kitchen, and on outdoor adventures with her husband and three sons—moments that often spark the most innovative ideas and keep her grounded in what matters most.
